WHAT IS MIYEOK-GUK ? 

Miyeok-guk is a staple Korean soup that translates to “seaweed soup”.  This soup is a non-spicy Korean dish and is a staple food for new moms in Korea because the nutrients contained in seaweed help with recovery and breast milk production.  For this reason, it’s also a Korean tradition to eat this soup on birthdays, as it is associated with childbirth.
